Let me put a bug in your ear....

I really woke up with a bug in my ear this morning....I can't even describe how I am still freaking out 12 hours later.

I thought I was having some sort of inner ear infection or wax building party and then I started freaking out and thinking something was going on in my brain so I poured some alcohol in my ear, leaned my head to the side and out comes an inch long thin black bug....still ALIVE!!!!

Then I killed it, how am I going to recover from this??

At least it wasn't ants in my pants!

TWO cute

Olivia showing Owen how this toy works, and of course Elmo is along for the ride.

Getting ready for bed!  Let's cuddle Owen.

Olivia riding her rocking horse, wearing her fairy skirt, and playing with her basketball toy.  This kid can multi-task!

5 months

Owen Garrett is 5 months old today!!

My precious little boy is the most cuddly, snuggly baby.
He is getting ready to crawl, can roll over a bunch of times (almost half way across a room!), can sit up on his own for a little bit before he weebles over, and has the most genuine smile I have ever seen.

He is the best baby boy :)

Gymnastics was....

CRAZY!!!!!!!

First, we got there a little too early (we had to register her still).  The gym is HUGE!  Like warehouse huge with stuff in every square inch.

About 100 other kids running around doing different things.

Olivia only wanted to run around and do what all the other kids were doing, specifically the Olympic level girls doing the crazy flips, that's what Olivia wanted to do.

Every time we had to corral her back to where her group was she fought it.  How dare we make here jump up and down when there was a girl doing a double back flip over there!

We think she was just a little too young to be around that kind of huge place, she couldn't really concentrate with other fun stuff going around.

We left halfway through the session since she was screaming.  She did do great on each thing she did.  She loved the trampoline stuff and the balance beam.

We think she would do better in a smaller gym environment to keep her focused.

We'll see!!

18 months

Our beautiful daughter Olivia Grace turned 18 months old this week!

The time has flown right by...

There are so many adjectives we could use to describe her: smart, cheerful, funny, fiesty, determined, loving...the list is too long!

Her vocabulary astonishes us each day, she loves letters, shapes, numbers, and kissing her brother.

We can see her personality already and she is a pistol!

She starts gymnastics tomorrow, Bill and I can't wait to see her walk that balance beam!

Here I come!

Hi!

I'm gonna come closer...

Here I am!

Owen is really trying to move more these days.  We think he's going to start crawling soon, and he pretty much tries to jump out of our arms when we hold him.  He's always trying to chase after Olivia, which is even tiring for us :)

Child Labor

Olivia will now be in charge of making her own dinner.....

And shopping for her own food..........

And taking pictures for the blog............

I bought Olivia a (used) Little Tikes pink kitchen and some play food and accessories to go with it.  They were all out of pink CEO desks  so I figured what the heck:)

"Don't play with your food...eat it!"

This picture reminds me of the little brother Randy from "A Christmas Story".  She loves mushy food!

Playing in the pool at the Labor Day party with friends from my mom's group.  Olivia of course stayed in the pool and sprinklers for a few hours.

Look at that grin!! Owen is getting cuter by the minute, and I am not just saying that because I'm his mom.  I think we have a little heartbreaker on our hands.

We went to visit my parents over the weekend (mom made lasagna, yum) and Tracy and her boyfriend Dan came for the weekend.  It was great to meet him- he and Owen had a blast together!

We are looking forward to the end of the oppressive heat and threat of hurricanes every weekend...
