Ahhh...the beach

Olivia's first trip to the beach
Anna Maria Island, FL July 2007

Just a few more days and we will be in Seabrook, NH!!  It's been a crazy week of me being sick (and both kids being stuff/runny as well), my wrist in a brace (from my mommy injury), and stressing about packing and flying with two babies for the first time EVER!!

We are hoping to see many friends and family on our trip...I can't wait to be home :)

Where there's a warning label....

...there's a man named Bill Powers who will ignore it.

"Do not place a real baby in the make pretend baby doll stroller"

Yes, Bill put Owen in Olivia's doll stroller.
Yes, I did take a picture.
No, I do not condone this type of behavior.

Lifting him did me in...

As mentioned in my previous post, my wrist injury is caused by repeated lifting of chubby little babies...look at those cheeks!

I remember thinking he was so skinny for a while when he was born :)

Mommy injuries!!

I have something called De Quervain's tenosynovitis

I had to get a shot in my wrist...OUCH!!!

more later........

Like father like son

I took pictures of Bill's baby pictures with my camera to hopefully show everyone how much Owen looks like Bill when he was a baby.

Enjoy!

Another Target stockholders victory

I went to Target a few days ago for something (was it diapers? formula? shampoo? toilet paper?) and came out with this...

A Giraffe tunnel.....Olivia was quite excited! And that look on her face was worth the $9.98.

But of course the only reason I bought it was because it was ORIGINALLY 19.99 and the 50% off sign sucked me in!

Damn that Target store!!!!!!!!!!!  They do it to me every time!

Party today!

A friend turned two today so we all went to Celebration for the party.  They had a train pick everyone up and go to the park for a while...it was blazing hot but Olivia had a great time running around with all her friends.  Owen just chilled in the bjorn.

Owen looks like such a tough guy!

Olivia getting all red...those cheeks just turn cherry as soon as we get outside!

I took this picture the other day...I just love the smile on Olivia's face.  She loves Owen so much and loves to help take care of him.

She has been practicing on Elmo quite a bit!

Happy boy!!! His smile just melts me...

And the chase was on....

Yes, I did chase her into a corner of my bedroom to take a picture of her first pigtails...

It just had to be captured...pigtails at this age are just too cute!

And we are waiting for Owen to get some hair so we can give him a mohawk...

Olivia's first sleepover

Olivia is spending the night at her noni and papa's house tonight...it just doesn't seem like our house without her here...Bill thinks it's really quiet.  I already miss her so much!

I am driving up to Mt. Dora with Owen tomorrow morning and we will spend the day there while Bill does stuff around the house.

I had a feeling about Thursday...

Did you ever wake up in the morning and just have a feeling that the day was going to be a little challenging?  That's what happened to me on Thursday.

Owen was very fussy from the get go...I think it had something to do with the fact he had not "gone to the bathroom" in a few days....

In the midst of his screaming, Olivia had to eat lunch.

I started off by feeding her Spaghetti O's then had to hold Owen so I just let her feed herself....

Self feeding by fire...not sure if Spaghetti O's would have been my first choice for her first attempt.

Diaper for the rest of the day...and lots of books and PBS kids shows

Owen at a few points in the day was not screaming :)

Shortly after this picture was taken he managed to "relieve" himself....Yeah!! Now he will be happier.  So I changed his diaper and for the first time in about 4 weeks he managed to pee all over me...and himself and the wall...

Then Olivia dumped her apple juice all over her hair and rubbed it in real good...

Diapers for everyone for the rest of the night!!
Olivia loves to brush his hair fuzz:)

Then I had to give Olivia a bath while Owen screamed in his swing the whole time--I thought he was done screaming???

Bill came home and I made him go buy me a Big Mac...Big Macs make me happy :)

Mt. Dora

Happy Birthday to Dad!!

My parents new home in Mt. Dora.  We spent the day here Saturday

Auntie Tracy was there for the weekend

And so were her dogs Bean and Frankie...this is such a cute picture of Frankie!

On our way to the pool...then Olivia got kicked out because you have to be potty trained to use the pool :(......

But she can pretend drink out of a cup...doesn't that count for something?  :)

America is 232 years Old!!

The Powers Family

My beautiful baby boy

Plenty of things to do for the little ones!

Olivia getting ready to go to the party--the headband did not stay on for too long!

Friday we went to a party with lots of couples and kids from my Mom's Group.  There was a bunch of food, playing, an swimming.  Olivia loves playing with her friends-she is very social, I wonder where she gets it :) !!
I made a Greek Layer dip with pita chips--the dip went very fast and everyone said they loved it.  It was in this months Better Homes and Gardens in the reader recipe prize winners.
We did not really see any fireworks. just heard them all night in our neighborhood.

Saturday we go to Mt. Dora for the day.

Hope you all had a great July 4 th!!!
